No energy is lost. The bookkeeping of God is absolute.
The energy of our emotionally charged thoughts can be transferred to others. The smallest stirring, which we trigger with our thoughts or words can stimulate action in our neighbor. Because of this, we are bound together and the actions committed are stored in a cosmic computer. One day atonement must be made.
How do you atone for something?
Atonement starts first with self-recognition. This awareness, called up by our conscience, shows us that our feeling, thinking, speaking and acting is not in accord with the laws of God. A good guideline is the central teaching of Jesus, the Christ: “Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you” – or stated the other way around – “Do not do to others what you not want done to you.” With the help of the Spirit of Christ that dwells in you, these give the opportunity to take the next step. Remorse, the deep regret, for what has been done. Stepwise true remorse and forgiveness follows; i.e., asking for forgiveness and forgiving what may have been done to us. Lastly, but by no means least, we no longer commit the wrongdoing we have recognized again. But if we choose not to recognize what was done and not go through this cycle of clearing things up with Christ’s help, then the possibility exists that at some point in time a blow of fate, e.g., an illness, an accident, need or sorrow will come to us via the law of sowing and reaping, also known as cause and effect.
The key words in every situation are to “question oneself,” whether victim or culprit, ask: “What does this situation want to tell me?” If I question myself, I can recognize there is something to be cleared up, I have bound someone to me in my world of thoughts, words or deeds. Then I can decide not only to dissolve this in myself, but also to dissolve the tie, the binding, to my neighbor.
We undertake the task to free ourselves by following the teachings of Jesus, the Christ. With His help we are able to go within, to recognize ourselves and to change our ways. His redeeming, healing powers open up in us. We are stimulated to feel remorse and to forgive more quickly, our sinfulness can be transformed into something positive. And then, more divine energy will flow to us.
