Some interesting facts about bicycle…
1. Did you know the first bicycle that was made in 1817 by Baron von Drais didn’t have any pedals? People walked it along
2. The first metal bicycle was called the High-Wheel or Penny Farthing. People had a hard time keeping their balance on this type of bicycle
3. The energy in a slice of pizza is enough to move an automobile 100 feet. That same pizza slice will take you 3 1/2 miles if you’re walking, or 10 miles if you’re riding a bike.
4. There are about a billion bicycles in the world, twice as many as motorcars. Almost 400 million bicycles are in China.
5. Air-filled tires were used on bicycles before they were used on motorcars.
6. The bicycle as we know it today – with two wheels of the same size – looks almost exactly the same as one from 1900.
